Rubber stamps… with lasers

Here is the results:

My goal here is to make rubber stamps using a laser cutter… I just don’t have the patients to do much hand carving.
This is the product I am aiming to try:

I know it is possible because YouTube tells me so.

As does adafruit.com and instructables

Over the course of the project so far I have learned that this product cuts like crap… the laser heats the rubber up too much and it turns into a crumbly stinky mess.

This linoleum on the other hand seems to be cutting just fine though it is better for block printing rather than stamping per se.
